I'm working two restaurant jobs and balancing those with a contract job that doesn't use my illustration skill (erm, such as it is), just my software and prepress knowledge. In the precious time between those jobs, sleep, and the hazards of everyday life, I draw comics and cartoons. I love drawing these stupid cartoons. That's when I feel the most at home in my own skin. And those stupid cartoons - fanart or original, commissioned or free, crappy and old or shiny and new - are the only unique thing of any value I have to give the world. And when someone tries to take that away from me - when they try to take away that uniqueness - it just... gah. My blood boils.
I always feel a little bit of regret after calling an art thief out in public - but I honestly don't know if the regret is actual remorse or if it stems from fear of backlash.
Or if that even matters.

Chapter 2 (out of a projected 20 or so) of the comic is coming along swimmingly (or as swimmingly as it can when I'm sick). Chapter 1 still needs some retouching - bottoms of shot glasses, redrawing one panel (replacing the Golden Gate bridge with the Bay Bridge), adding background detail... but for all intents and purposes, it's done.
Found the last 4 bottles of my favorite red wine available in Austin - bought two: one for when Chapter 1 is completely in the bag, and one for the same milestone with Chapter 2.

Oh, what does a goose egg omelet taste like? If that's not too odd to ask.

Without the folks who watch me here, I'd never find out about my art being stolen. For a long, long time I just assumed nobody was bothering XD

It's been 5 years since I was in the Bay area. I can fudge one or two little things and still get by, but any more than that is pushing it.
Ahh, I just signed up on tegaki e a few nights ago as a matter of fact! Now comes my quest for money to get an actual tablet, which is coming along at a snails pace naturally.
