Hasty, messy doodles, just enough to tell a story. I don't know how regular these will be, but I plan to upload one strip as soon as the following strip is done.
I don't know how many of these I'll do. Some will be funny, some will be horrifying. All of 'em will be true.
Notes on this strip:
- Not much, really. Uh, P.O.S. stands for "point of sale" - the touch screens where the waitresses would input orders to be sent to the bar or kitchen.
- I feel kind of uncomfortable sharing salary info, but figured it was important to show the contrast. That's 1 1/2 hours' pay for a book (bought after 1st check) versus a full night shift's pay (on a good night) - or eight lunch shifts - for stuff you had to purchase before you could start working. Not that I was expecting everything to be provided, but dang.

Man, this brings back memories. The place where I worked had a bad case of strep infect the entire staff, including the people on the line. On the bright side, the shift went by a lot faster hopped up on meds.
I also agree with you on the theatre analogy, although I met some considerably nuttier people while waiting.
